The Light of Peace

Every card I've made using the new Thomas Kinkade stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms, has been done in monochromatic colors. I'm not quite ready to try my hand at coloring these gorgeous images yet. I'm also not sure that I like this "The Light of Peace" image in monochromatic, but I thought this would be a nice card for a gentleman who will be going through surgery, and a long road of treatment for cancer.

The image is stamped on Very Vanilla with Blue Bayou. I added just a little "glow" from the light with my Gold Spica pen. For the background embossing, I used my Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls folder with my Big Shot. I used my SU Photo Corners punch for the photo corners, and added the silver brads. The ribbon is retired from SU, and I'm not sure that I'm going to leave it there. (I hear guys don't particularly care for ribbon, so I will ask DH what he thinks).

ETA: I ended up taking the ribbon off. Looks much better.

Enjoy your Sunday, and thanks for stopping by today!

This looks gorgeous and very fitting for the recipient; sorry to hear about the diagnosis, that's tough. I bet he will love your card, and looks just as great without the ribbon.

This card looks very peaceful. Probably just the thing for your friend going through surgery. I can't imagine trying to color in one of these images. There are so many details.

Gorgeous!! I just love how these stamps look great colored or not. It is so elegant and tasteful like this. It's just too bad about the need of it. Good luck to your friend.

I know what you mean about the monochromatic look for these cards! I've finally delved into coloring the vinettes and I've found creating a colored background with ranger inks is also a fun quick way to bring more color to the image!
Your card it beautiful!

I think it's beautiful in a monotone! The embossed swirls in the background remind me of ocean waves. The Spica glitter was a very nice touch, too. It's hard to force yourself to leave the ribbon off, isn't it? I'm sure it looks good either way. I'm wishing the best for your friend. He'll appreciate your thoughtfulness.
