Fayette Page

Hello everyone!  Today I have a scrapbook page to share, so that's quite a surprise.  ;)  I've used some photos taken during a trip we took to Fayette this August in the U.P. of Michigan.  It was such a gorgeous day, and though it was our third time there...it was the best!  There weren't very many other tourists around, and we took our time exploring the buildings, looking at artifacts, reading all of the self-guided posts...and just taking the whole thing in.  Lance even found a bone when we were walking along the area where the middle class families used to live.  We later received a call from Fayette stating that it was a bone from a pig, and was probably cut by a butcher in Fayette.

The patterned paper for this page is from Michaels, and I've done all of my cropping, wavy border, and circular photo using the Perfect Squares tool.  The heading is Thickers, and the daises are Martha Stewart.  If you would like to learn more about the Perfect Squares tool, check out our reviews and samples over at Splitcoaststampers today.

Stamps:  Travel Log (SU)
Card Stock:  Chocolate Chip, White, Great Outdoors (Recollections)
Ink:  Fresh Snow, Inkssentials Opaque pen, Printer Ink
Accessories:  Perfect Squares, Perfect Layers, Craft Knife, Cutting Mat, Thickers (American Crafts), Daisy Stickers (Martha Stewart), Foam Tape, Tombo Glue

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great day!!

Romeo

I've made a 6 x 6 page with my favorite picture of Romeo, our rescued Sheltie.  I've used my Porcelain papers with Early Espresso, but I didn't quite get my layers centered.  I fixed them up with my Perfect Layers. The 1/16th edge was used for the base, and the 3/16th edge was used for the photo. I wanted a little extra space around the photo, so that I could "dot" the border with my gel pen. The fence was punched with my Martha Stewart punch, and the cute die is from MFT.

Scrap and Stamp

Happy Saturday everyone! I'm very honored to be the Guest Designer for Scrap and Stamp today. (Thanks Alex & Melissa!) The sponsor of today's challenge is Lizzie Anne Designs, and when you participate in the challenge...you'll have an opportunity to win the stamp set that the LAD girls donated! To be qualified for the giveaway, your page must contain some stamped images.

Today's theme is friends. Since I don't have many photos with friends...I thought it would be cool to feature 'mans' best friend'...or in this case, 'kids' best friend'. I am not much of a scrapper, so I used the help of Scrap Maps for my layout. I also used my favorite paper pack, Parisian Breeze (now retired). The title was stamped with my Olivia alphabet (retired), and the butterfly is a die cut (SU). I layered the butterfly, and used foam tape to help the dimension hold up (once it goes into it's sleeve). I printed my journaling using my computer..then die cut it with my Labels Four Nestabilities.

I used an image from my Damask set to dress up the corners of the group photo. I also used a Jumbo Brad from SU.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Enjoy your weekend!!

A Page & A Card

Today I have some projects to show you that I've been working on. I don't love either one of them. Firstly...I do not care for scrapbooking. It kind of 'steals' away any stamping "mojo" I may have. I don't like trying to decide the pictures to scrap, and it always seems to take me forever! At the end of the painful process...I never seem to be happy with the result.

The card was a quickie that looked much better in my mind than what you see. I thought it would be cool to try using the weathered paper.

Both projects use all SU products.

I have another (prettier) project that I'm working on, and hope to upload a little later. Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Here you see a 6x6 page totally CASED from SU's spring mini workshop template. I am working with my MIL to help her with scrap-booking, as she has a project she wants to start. All SU products are used here. The stamp sets used are Doodle This (spring mini set), and Big Deal Alphabet (I love this alphabet set!). The cardstock is sahara sand, cool caribbean, regal rose, and watercolor paper. The inks are regal rose, cool caribbean, versamark (watermark ink), and Jet Black StaZon. I used the uni-ball white gel pen to accent the 'swirls', and the basic black journaler to add the year and notation. I watercolored the flower using a blender pen, and the classic full-sized ink pads pressed to express a little pool of ink. The flower is accented with a clear button tied with natural hemp, and attached with mini glue dots. It is mounted on stampin' dimensionals. Finally, I used white grosgrain ribbon to tie around the photo and regal rose card-stock piece.

This is a picture of my three kids, taken on the beach at Ludington State Park...just before sunset.
