Core'dinations™ Review @ Splitcoaststampers

Stamps: Peony (Flourishes, LLC)
Card Stock: Retro Mod Squad & The Chocolate Box (Core'dinations™), Neenah Natural White
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Copic Sketch markers
Accessories: Paper Piercer and Template, ribbon, Crystal Effects

The Splitcoaststampers review team has a new product review ready for you to check out today. We are reviewing a color core card stock called Core'dinations, and you may read the product information and reviews right here. There is also a gallery set aside for projects using this card stock . Finally...I did a very short tutorial on tearing card stock that you can check out here. On the main page of the review, please be sure to check along the right sidebar for several other tutorials of different techniques you can use with this unique card stock.

This time of the year always makes me remember all of the peonies we had when I was a child. I loved the fragrance, and ultra soft petals. They would be in bloom just as we were let out of school for the summer, and I remember taking some in to my teachers.

This card is for my MIL for her birthday. My DH told me that she also loves peonies, so I'm hoping she will like this card as well.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

WSC60

I'm only a week late on this WSC60 from Beate...lol. Maybe I will be able to get to this weeks' sketch a little earlier, but here is my card anyhow. I used my Flourishes stamps, and my Stella Ruby paper from BasicGrey. The embossing was done with my Floral Screen Cuttlebug folder that I purchased from Eclectic Paperie.

 Stamps: Mixed Greetings, Many Sentiments
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, Mellow Moss, Neenah Natural White, Stella Ruby (BasicGrey)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Old Olive, Antique Linen & Walnut Stain Distress inks (Ranger), Copic markers
Accessories: Floral Screen Cuttlebug folder, Cutter's Kit, Dew Drops, Crystal Effects, Scotch foam tape

As I've mentioned in my previous post, I've been very busy helping my son with his homework. My DH has also been home from work all week, so I haven't been able to stamp as much as I'd like. I hope that will change real soon, 'cause I have LOTS to do. ; )

Have you all noticed that my blog has three columns now? I have been wanting to do this for quite some time, but couldn't really figure it out. A HUGE thanks goes out to Kristine, who was so sweet to help me out. THANKS so much Kristine!!

It's supposed to be a nice weekend here, so I hope we are able to get out and see some fall colors. What are your plans? Whatever you do...I hope it's wonderful!! Thanks so much for your visit!!

I have been long overdue to get my beautiful Flourishes stamps out and play, and have been loving all of the latest floral releases. Here's a simple design I made up between all of the computer mumbo jumbo I have been working on. (I am loving all of the new equipment, but trying to get used to using my new software, etc. I hope this looks ok).

My card uses the Spring Ephemerals, and Many Sentiments sets. The designer paper is Aerial from Memory Box.

Here's the recipe:

Stamps: Spring Ephemerals, Many Sentiments (Flourishes LLC)
Card Stock: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Basic Black, Aerial (Memory Box)
Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black
Accessories: Threading Water punch (Fiskars), 3M foam tape, 7/8 inch Black organdy ribbon (retired SU)

I have to keep this short, as I am still trying to catch up on everything since the new 'puter arrived. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Flourishes Love Birds

Images©Flourishes, LLC

I soooo love these sweet little birds from Flourishes Love Nest set. They are as cute at can be, and I couldn't wait to showcase them on this Kick Stand card (developed by Kirsten DuBosque). My card is a different size tho, and measures 4¼ x 4¼ inches. I used Wild Wasabi for the base, and the patterned paper is Two Scoops by BasicGrey (Jacksonbelle Embellishments). The birds are stamped with StazOn Jet Black on watercolor paper, and colored with my classic inks and Aqua Painter. I stamped the birds three times, and paper-pieced them for a nice look. The circles and scalloped circle is created using my Nestabilities. The beautiful ribbon was purchased at Flourishes as well.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful weekend!!

Punchy Starburst & My News!!

Have you all noticed the wonderful starbursts everyone has been making lately? I first saw Fran's gorgeous creations, so I had to follow the link she gave, to see how to make them. Donna Moore has some wonderful instructions over at Splitcoaststampers. I used my Shimmery White card stock, and Paper Vellum to make my starburst. It really wasn't as difficult that I thought it might be.

The elegant sentiment is from Flourished Christmas by Flourishes, LLC. I stamped with Whisper White Craft ink first, then later decided I needed to emboss it with White embossing powder. The designer paper is Wintergreen, and the punches I used for the center of the starburst are Snow Blossom and Spring Flower Bouquet. I used a Rain Dot from Cloud9 Design for the center. The bottom corners of my card were pierced with the tools from my Crafter's Tool Kit. The ribbon is Whisper White Tafetta from SU.

So.....are you interested in my news? If you look at my sidebar, it's all there. I am a guest designer for Starving Artistamps!!! I am so excited, as I have never had this opportunity before! I just placed my first order, so it will be a little while before I have anything to show you. I had a tough time deciding between all the wonderful stamps over there! Thanks so much Tracey for this awesome opportunity!!

Thank you all for stopping by!

Fall Sympathy and RAK's

My first card is a Fall sympathy card I made using the new With Gratitude set from SU. I stamped the leaves randomly with Old Olive, More Mustard, and Ruby Red. Then I used my Aqua Painter to give them a light wash. I rounded the corners with the corner rounder punch. The Color Spritzer Tool was used with my Stampin' Write Markers to add the nice flecks of color to the background. The sentiment is from Close As a Memory, and the ribbon from the BasicGrey Mellow ribbons pack. This looked kind of plain, so I added a little sparkle to the Ruby Red leaf with my clear Spica pen, and dotted the sentiment corner with my Old Olive S&W marker.

Stamps: With Gratitude, Close As a Memory
Card Stock: Old Olive, Naturals White, Ruby Red
Ink: Old Olive, More Mustard, Ruby Red Classic inks and Stampin' Write markers, Clear Spica pen
Accessories: Corner Rounder punch, Color Spritzer Tool, BasicGrey "Mellow" ribbon, Aqua Painter, Tombo Mono Multi Liquid Glue, Stampin' Dimensionals

RAK from Janeen

This is a beautiful anniversary card from Janeen. I love the Fall colors, and the craft ink on the Kraft paper. I love that image, and she colored it so nicely. The original design is from Carole Richardson, and I think Janeen did such a nice job with it. Thanks so much Janeen!

From Flourishes

This final card is one that was enclosed with my Flourishes winnings. It is so cute, and I love the simplicity. I have this set as well, and need to try stacking those cute little cupcakes like these are here. So adorable! Thanks again Sharon, Nancy, and Jan Marie! You all ROCK! ;)

Thanks for stopping by today! I have a lot of blurfing to catch up on, and a couple of Tags to do as well. I hope to get to it sometime later.

This is my Final card for the Flourishes Strut Your Stuff promotion. I used another of Angel's birthday countdown sketches here. These adorable cupcakes are found in the Sweet Treats Flourishes set. Flourishes Promotion and a Card

Would you like to earn a prize from Flourishes? This Wednesday, October 17th, Flourishes is having a "Strut your Stuff" promotion at Splitcoaststampers. All you have to do is upload your artwork using Flourishes stamps into the SCS gallery with "Flourishes Strut Your Stuff" in the keyword section. Then send an e-mail to flourishesllc@cox.net with a link to your photo, and your home address (so you can get your prize). Everyone will get a thank you, and a small gift. One lucky person will receive a nice "Strut Your Stuff" prize as well.

This sounds like a lot of fun. Now I just need to get busy working on those samples. ;)

This is such a simple card, but this image from Flourishes Peace set is so pretty...I think it stands on it's own very well. Just think of the simple beautiful Christmas cards you can create just by simply changing up the colors, ribbon etc. I used PaperTrey Stampers Select for my card, because it is a nice heavy weight card stock. The pretty ribbon was purchased at Jacksonbelle Embellishments.

Thanks so much for visiting!!

Flourished Christmas Tree

Flourishes has some of the most elegant stamps, and this tree from the Flourished Christmas set is no exception. I had the idea to use my Nestabilities to cut the largest scalloped square I could for the flat, one-layer base. I used my gold Zig Painty to color the edges of the scallops to match the gold card that I adhered to the base. The tree was stamped with VersaMark, and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. The ribbon is Gold Organdy, retired from SU. I stamped and embossed the little sentiment you see, but couldn't decide where to place it. In the end...I just left it off. Do you think it's fine without, or not?

Thanks for looking!

Stamps: Flourished Christmas
Card Stock: White PaperTrey Select, Brushed Gold
Ink: VersaMark, Gold Zig Painty
Accessories: Scalloped Square Nestabilities & Big Shot, Corner Rounder punch, Gold Embossing Powder, Gold Organdy ribbon

Where Have I Been??

One word......homework. No, not mine. I have been trying to get my nine-year-old to do his. He has gotten behind, and I'm having a difficult time helping him to catch up (without grabbing his pencil....and doing it myself). Suggestions anyone?

I have a couple of simple projects that I was able to create in the meantime. I also have a birthday RAK to show you.

This first card uses the beautiful new Flourishes stamp set called 'O Christmas Tree'. The base of the card is Old Olive, and the designer paper is Brocade (both SU). I used my Old Olive Classic Pad to ink the needles of the tree, and my More Mustard for the pot. Then I touched up some areas with my Close to Cocoa Stampin' Write Marker, huffed the image, then stamped on my Shimmery White card stock. The gold chain is done with VersaMark ink and my gold detail embossing powder. The sentiment is from the Flourished Words stamp set, and is also embossed with gold detail powder. I will include the recipe at the end of the post.

My next card was created with an image (Fright Night from My Favorite Things) that was already colored with my Copic markers, matted with the designer paper (Crate Paper Avenue), and just sitting on my desk. The base of the card is Basic Black, with a layer of Pumpkin Pie...embossed with my D'vine Swirl Cuttlebug folder. I used a little SU twill tape, and 'fringed' the ends. The black mat on the sentiment is three circles that were punched out with my 1" circle punch, and adhered to the back of the sentiment piece.

My final card is a birthday RAK that I received from Marie, a very sweet friend of mine who also enjoys stamping. :) Thanks so much, Marie! I love the pretty colors and the crayon resist (that's what it is...isn't it?)

Thanks for visiting my blog, and have a wonderful Sunday!!

Fantasy Floral Garden

I made my first Fantasy Floral Garden card today. This set is so pretty and elegant! When I first saw the big bloom, I knew I wanted to score it along the petals to make a 3D flower (I stamped it three times, trimmed, and layered them . The flower protrudes from the card a bit, but I think it will flatten nicely for shipping. The beautiful designer paper is Mellow from BasicGrey (6x6 pad).

Can you believe two posts in a day? I know...neither can I...lol!

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!
