Fabriano Medioevalis

I love to use my Fabriano Medioevalis cards for those extra special occasions, and decided to make a Mother's Day card for my mom. I chose to use the Fancy Pants Pollen Dust stamps, because I love the flourishes. I just can't seem to get a good stamped image with these stamps, even though I'm using the Versa Magic inks. If I use too much pressure, I get that "smashed" image, but if I don't use enough...I get patchy stamping with voids. I decided to go with this card as it is, because I know my mom will love it anyhow. Does anyone have some tips they would like to share? Oh, and I should add that the Prima flowers are from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.

After my frustration with the first card, I decided to make another similar card using my Paper Salon Fancy Flourishes set. I decorated with lots of "bling" (Amuse Creative Candy twinkle stickers-micro dot). I decided to stamp my sentiment, punch it out with my Marvy Uchida Giga Scalloped Circle punch, and do a little paper piercing with my Crafter's Tool Kit. The ribbon is May Arts purchased from StarLitStudio.

These cards measure 4.75 x 4.75

I'm not going to list the full recipes today, but if you have any questions...feel free to ask. Thanks for visiting!!

These look great, but I can tell on the first card where some of the design looks thicker. I really haven't had any problems with these stamps, but I think they probably work better with a pigment ink.

Rose Ann, they are both gorgeous! I do sometimes get patchiness with the Fancy Pants. Make sure you dab the Versamagic Ink on, not slide it over the stamp.

You might want to try craft ink from Stampin' Up! Maybe those will work better for you.

Hugs!

These are so pretty! I want that Fancy Pants set so bad! But all I can think of is $40, $40, $40. Now, if I could just push that thought out of my head and realize all the other things that I spend $40 on, you know like electricity. {giggle} I have a problem sometimes with my Rhonna Farrer stamps. What solves it for me is not pushing as hard. When you have a rubber stamp you want to push hard to make sure you get the whole thing stamped. With acrylic ones they tend to 'spread' if you push hard on them. Maybe try letting up a bit and see if that helps!

So you're the one who sent me a card! I couldn't figure out who it was and connect the name to a blog. Aren't you the sweetest! This card is gorgeous! Thanks so much.
