Thanksgiving

Hi everyone! I'm happy I was able to pull out some of my adorable Lizzie Anne Designs stamps for this Thanksgiving card. Aren't these the cutest little pilgrim images? They are Simply Singles, and the sentiment is from the October 2009 Monthly Mix set called " A Harvest of Memories". The patterned paper is from the Nutmeg paper pack (Cosmo Cricket).

Stamps: Pilgrim Girl, Pilgrim Boy (Simply Singles), Harvest of Memories (Oct '09 Monthly Mix) Lizzie Anne Designs
Card Stock: Ocean Tides (PTI), Natural White (Neenah)
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Antique Linen Distress Ink, Clear Spica Glitter Pen
Accessories: Lace Circle & Circle Nestabilities, Oval Punch (SU), Baker's Twine (Taylored Expressions

A huge highlight of this past week, was having the opportunity to meet Debbie Olson. She is the loveliest person, and I was totally trying to soak up all of the Copic tips she was dishing out. I would be absolutely delighted to take Copic classes with Debbie in the future, and I'm hoping I'll have the opportunity. ;)

The doctor has recently given his approval for my son to start the process of using an insulin pump to control his diabetes. He, my husband, and I recently attended an Introduction to Insulin Pump Therapy class, and think we will be ordering the OneTouch Ping from Animas at Lance's next appointment. I have been online checking out their website, and reading all of the materials I can find around the house. I've also ordered a couple of recommended books about using insulin pumps. Lance is pretty excited, and I'm trying to prepare all of us for relearning to control his sugars in a "new" way. I think it is a positive step forward, but I'm a bit nervous about it at the same time. Are any of you familiar with this particular pump, or using insulin pumps in general? I'd love to hear what you have to say about it. ☺

Have a wonderful Sunday, and thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for visiting!

Sweet and adorable card. Great photo of you and Debbie - you lucky girl!! I would love to take a lcass from her. John's granddaughter has used a pump for several years but I don't know anymore than that about it. Hope it works out well for all of you.

Your little pilgrims are absolutely adorable, Rose Ann. I need to get some of that baker's string.

I don't know a thing about Diabetes or pumps but I wish you the best in finding what works for your son. Hugs!

Very cute card. As far as the pump goes, my daughter used it throughout her teenage years. It really helped keep her BS's under better control. The only issue we ever had with it was the fact that my daughter was very thin and didn't have much of a fatty area to insert the catheter. She had to use the ultra slim catheter which occasionally got bent resulting in her receiving no insulin. Good luck with it, I am sure it will be a very good thing for your son.

Cute THanksgiving card Rose Ann! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving several comments =) And... nope, don't know anything about the pumps. My daughter's best friend is a diabetic and might use one... I can see what kind it is.

Holiday blessings to you and yours!! =)

Your card is so adorable Rose Ann!

Debbie is a "sweetie" isn't she! . . . I just took a Copic Certification class with Colleen . . . I had a blast! Colleen was so much fun, her teaching is outstanding . . . a born teacher!

I wish I could be of some help with the insulin pump, but I have no information/knowledge to share. Wishing you and Lance the very best! {{{hugs}}}

Beautiful card, those are really cute pilgrim singles, I'll have to dig them out and play with them again! So sweet to 'see' you with Debbie! I'd love to take a class too someday, hard to come by in our area though!

My SIL and her daughter were diagnosed with Diabetes a while back, her daughter is actually getting better but my SIL was using some type of insulin injection, not sure if it's the same as what you're describing, I'll have to find out.

Look at you pretty lady! What a nice picture of you and Debbie! Such cute pilgrims too!

No experience here with insulin pumps, though one of my other students in our last church got one and it made all the difference in the world for her and a sense of freedom as well as a more constant control over her sugars.

Wishing you the best!

That is a darling image, Rose Ann, and cute paper to go with it! I didn't make a single Thanksgiving card this year, shame on me. Very nice photo of you and Debbie, too! Wish I could help you about the insulin pump, but I have no experience there at all. Hoping it turns out to be just perfect for Lance! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Such a cute Thanksgiving card! That's a lot of talent between you and Debbie!

As for the pump, I don't know about that particular brand but a friend of ours uses a pump and loves it. He just adjusts it depending on what he's eating. I think it makes for a little bit more freedom.
