JustRite & Creatopia

Today I have a couple of projects that I made for my T1 diabetic son, Lance. They are mostly keepsakes, and he seems to like them a lot.

My first project is a journaling book that I made for Lance to use whenever he wants to jot down his thoughts and feelings about living with T1 diabetes. There are high emotions whenever his sugars are too high, or too low...and I thought it would help him out if he had a special place to write things down. He has been encouraged throughout school to continue writing, so perhaps this may help with that as well.

I used some SU chipboard and some denim fabric. The Creatopia has a Fabric Adhesive Refillz that is 12" wide, and sticks sooo well. I used my Corner Chomper to round the corners, and my Crop-a-Dile to punch the holes in my fabric-covered chipboard. I used my JustRite Stamps for the personalized label. The stickers are Jolee's Boutique.

Stamps: Trompe Script Font, Special Occasions Font, Times New Roman 15 pt. Font (all from JustRite Stampers)
Card Stock: Kraft, White (PTI), Chipboard (SU)
Ink:
Onyx Black VersaFine

Accessories:
Xyron Creatopia & Fabric Adhesive, Oval Nestabilites, Jolee's Boutique stickers (EK Success), Crop-a-dile, Rings, Corner Chomper, Ribbon from Sharon Johnson's Ribbon Store, Denim Fabric

The next project has photos of the walk I posted about a few days ago. I didn't mat them, as I wanted to keep things pretty flat for laminating with the Laminating Refillz. The decorative edging on the blue paper was made using my Creatopia, then I ran the whole layer through the Permanent Refillz to stick it on my green Coredinations paper. Next I laminated the whole thing, so now Lance is able to use it as a placemat or just as a protected keepsake as he chooses.

Card Stock: Vintage Collection (Coredinations), Sanctuary (me & my BIG ideas)
Ink:
Pigma Micron pen (Sakura)
Accessories:
Creatopia Cutz/ Permanent Adhesive, and Laminate

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great day!!
Thanks for visiting!

Rose Anne...what an AWESOME thing to do! The denim is so perfect for a boy and your cute li'l med supplies on the front--that's so cool. I'm sure he loved this huh?!! Poor kid. I feel for him having to live with diabetes. It's a hard road, but sounds like he has ax extremely caring and thoughtful mom to help him through it, and now a journal too which will help him. Great job with that new Creatopia! I had never heard of it, but sounds like it can do some really neat things! :)

Fab idea for an altered book...those embellies are bang-on. Hopefully he gets some use out of it (I am so bad about journalling myself!).
