JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes
I don't talk of Lance's diabetes much since his diagnosis, but we have certainly had our ups and downs with it. Many compare living with diabetes like a roller coaster...but I'd have to say...it is not all that fun!
Lance has been a real trooper dealing with the frequent finger pokes (to check his glucose), and his four insulin injections a day. He is looking forward to the time when his doctors give him the go head to try an insulin pump.
Meanwhile....we are going to be participating in our local Walk to Cure Diabetes (on October 4th). We've decided to walk with Jacksons' group of walkers, "Team Blue Eyes". Jackson is a kindergartner who attends the same school as Lance, and was also diagnosed earlier this year. Lance and Jackson have quickly become good buddies, as they see each other in the office quite frequently. If you would like to see Jackson's video, click here. Lance's story is similar, though I have not made a video.
Thanks for visiting my blog today! I am working on some really cool projects, but I am unable to share them right now. Have a fabulous weekend!!

I'm glad you talked about this. I know it isn't easy. John is borderline and I'm much more aware, now, of what we eat and what it does to our bodies.
Wishing you all the best with your walk Rose Ann. Poor little guy,it must be so hard for all of you!
You are in my thoughts!
I will be thinking about you RoseAnn and your family.
Looking forward to your projects!!
Bless you Rose Ann, good luck with the walk.
I waited till last to watch the video, Rose Ann. It broke my heart even though the family is doing a good job of coping. I hope Lance can get on the pump soon, bless his heart. I admire your strength and courage.
I hope you have fun on your walk...more importantly, I hope Lance is plugging along as best as he can. Gestational diabetes was crappy but merely an inconvenience in the long run...if I had (or ever have to) make those long-term adjustments, OMG!
What a beautiful video, Rose Ann! Thank you for passing it along for us to see. What a cutie Jackson is! It's wonderful that Lance & Jackson have become friends thru this! Good luck with the walk! :)
Best of luck with the walk, Rose Ann! We do the walk and raise money each year too! Hope things start to settle down soon for Lance. Thinking of you!
Good luck witht he walk Rose Ann! My thoughts are with you and Lance! He sounds like quite the trooper!
Best wishes and God bless you and your family...I hope Lance gets good news soon and less finger pokes! Hope the walk was great!
