Happy Labor Day, everyone! I haven't been crafting much lately, but I have been bird-watching around the house. A couple of mornings ago, I saw many species within only a few minutes. The birds I saw were: Cardinals, Bluebirds, Blue Jays, Black-capped Chickadees, Mourning Doves...and the next two species. You may click on the photos for an up-close view.

Sharing food, as they do so well!
During a recent visit, the kids were fascinated by the Hummingbirds at my Mom's, so we decided to put up a feeder of our own. I've heard that you're supposed to get your Hummingbird feeders out early in the season, if you want them to be discovered.Within a few hours, the feeder was discovered...and now we have many visitors. This one is resting for a spell in the early morning (notice all of the dew).
Here he is coming in for a sip. (Sorry for the poor quality of these. I was going to stay out longer so that I could get better pictures, but the kids were needing my attention.)
The kids start school tomorrow, and they are pretty excited. I hope they remain this enthusiastic for a while...but we'll see.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy your day!!

Great pictures, Rose Ann! I hope the kids enjoy the first day of school tomorrow!
Great pictures! Isn't it fun to birdwatch around your house? WE had a great place for it when we lived in Rapid City and saw all sorts of birds. Here in OH, we don't have a single tree on the lot, so not so many birds. But Saturday, my DH rescued a hurt barred owl after a bike ride. I'll be posting about it (with pictures) on Wednesday!
Oh, these are great pictures, Rose Ann! I just love sitting around and watching the hummingbirds at the feeders when we visit the dog groomers farm! Makes me happy! :)
Good luck to the kids tomorrow as they head back to school. Mine started last week and that enthusiasium already went out the window. LOL Kids!!
Have a great Labor Day!

Love me some bird pics. I wish we had more interesting ones around here...I am tired of magpies and sparrows!
I've never gotten a hummer in my garden yet! I have all the right plants and a feeder...but they haven't found it yet apparently, lol! Thanks for sharing your sweet pictures!

WOW, Rose Ann...how lucky you are to live around such beauty!!!!!
Beautiful photos, Rose Ann! It's hard to catch a hummingbird sitting still. I love the early morning photo with all the dew around. My favorite time of day. I still have hummingbirds visiting my fuschias and penstemon.
I'm a bird watcher too. love the birds. Do you keep a journal of what you see?
