Wasabi & a Challenge

I really do love a beautiful single layer and/or CAS (clean and simple) card! I really think it makes a statement, and is always perfect for a Sympathy or Thinking of You card. This is my latest sampling:

Images ©Stampin' Up! ®1990-2008

Stamps: Essence of Love
Card Stock: Georgia Pacific White
Ink: Wild Wasabi, VersaFine Onyx Black
Accessories: Wild Wasabi Striped Grosgrain Ribbon

The DD/DDA has a monthly challenge at Splitcoaststampers. I haven't participated in the last couple of them, but when I heard that owls were the focus this month...I decided that I *must* play along. This adorable image was given to me by my friend, Donna (thanks Donna!) It's from the Gina K. Designs set, Owl Always Love You!

Challenge Focus: Owls
Required Element: Texture (Mine is my weaved ribbon.)
Restricted Element: No crystals, rhinestones, or Dew Drop-type embellishments
Gallery located at : SCS DD/DDA challenge DCWH508

I chose to do the ribbon weaving for my texture. I was thinking of doing a little tutorial soon, if enough people are interested. What do you think?

Stamps: Owl Always Love You! (Gina K. Designs)
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Brown (?), Copic Sketch Markers
Accessories: Photo Corner punch, Bitty Brads (CTMH), Paper Piercing tool/template/mat, 5/8 inch Chocolate Chip & Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, 1/4 inch Scor-Tape, Dotto, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Sponge

Thanks for visiting, and have a wonderful Tuesday!!

Rose Ann, these cards are awesome. I just ordered the Essence set (impatiently stalking Mr. Brown) and love it in wasabi, especially with the striped ribbon. I like single layer cards too.

Your owl card is too cute. I don't own any owl stamps, but I love this pair from Gina K. Awesome layout!
