My Computer Puked :(

ETA: Anyone have recommendations of what computer to get? I am currently using a Dell desktop, and have liked it a lot. I've been considering a notebook, but because I'm more of a homebody...I've stayed with desktops. Thanks!

That's right...my computer totally froze up on me. I couldn't do anything, and called Dell support (too bad the technical supports' accent was so heavy...I could hardly understand, and I had to figure it out on my own). Anyhow, I messed around with it all day yesterday. I finally decided I needed to re-load Windows XP, then had some issues with drivers (ugh!)

I finally got internet at 2:00 AM this morning. I am still having lots of issues, so I think it may be time to shop for a new computer.

I missed you all, and I'm trying to make my way around to see your awesome creations.

Thank you for visiting!

Welcome back .. even if it's temporary, Rose Ann! 'Puter issues are pathetic ... Can you believe it was just a "trend" a few years ago?! Yikes!

Glad to "see" you!

Hope you get it to working! My advice in the help line is to call until you get someone you can uncerstand. It seems 90% of computer geeks have thick accents. :-)

Oh goodness! I usually end up fiddling with the computer myself too rather than dealing with a tech guy...they ususally aren't too helpful, reading from a book themselves...LOL
Hope you can get it all up and running good for you!
Gee, it's taking time away from your wonderful creations!!!
Hope today goes better for you!

That stinks. A month or two ago I got a Toshiba lap top and love it! I am definitely a homebody as well. I like to relax on the couch or bed and check my email, etc. Good luck with getting a new cpu, I know it can be overwhelming!

I had to laugh at your title! I am sorry to hear about your computer though! What a pain huh? I have a Gateway and a Toshiba laptop. Love both...no problems with either! Good luck on your purchase!

We are a Mac family. There was a learning curve when we switched but now you couldn't pay me to switch back. I have an iMac. It totally ROCKS!

Make the switch!

Get a MAC and use firefox browser, which is free and takes seconds to load. I hated my Mac the first 2 weeks and now will NOT go back to a PC. Good luck.
